Course Description

Supervision is a critical role in a business environment. Supervisors typically have the most direct contact with the largest amount of the workforce. This course examines the role of the supervisor in the workplace, including the transition in roles from peer to supervisor. We will explore managing and influencing others, focusing on strengths to improve performance, building effective relationships with those you supervise, and identifying ways to improve performance by managing others more effectively.

Discussions include:

  • evaluating others
  • constructive feedback
  • communicating directions
  • providing clear objectives for others to follow
  • identifying your roles and responsibilities as a supervisor

You will learn how to build effective relationships with your employees, and how to recognize ways to improve your ability to manage more effectively.
