Course Description

An overview to help you implement and teach the curriculum in AP Human Geography. The AP Human Geography course content reflects the goals of the National Geography Standards (2012), and is organized around the discipline's main subfields:

  • economic geography
  • cultural geography
  • political geography
  • urban geography

This course will show you how to guide your AP student to become more geoliterate, more engaged in contemporary global issues, and more multicultural in their viewpoints. You will review course content, discuss teaching techniques and strategies, explore resources, and review the AP syllabus, auditing, and AP exam.

AP Summer Institute spotlights the latest instructional strategies for teaching Human Geography. This course will be taught online July 22-25, 2024. Early bird discount cost is $600 (before June 21) and $650 (after June 21). There are 3 units of credit (optional) for an additional $150. Registration closes Friday, July 5. Register via Cvent.
