Course Description

Introductory course in probability and statistics that examines collecting, organizing and summarizing data in order to draw valid conclusions. Topics include exploring data, observing patterns and departures from patterns; deciding what data to use and how to measure it; interpreting correlation, regression and categorical data; random variables; anticipating patterns and producing models using probability theory and simulation. Participants use computer outputs to explore data distributions and relationships to design experiments. A Texas Instrument TI-83 or TI-84 Calculator is optional for the online course.
