EDUC 891 - Identifying and Preventing the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children: Introduction

Course Description

This training program consists of four modules designed to raise awareness of human trafficking and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. This is Module 1 of 4, and covers the following training areas, teaching the Resource Family to:

• define CSEC
• be familiar with four types of commercial sexual exploitation of children
• understand why foster children are at higher risk of victimization related to commercial sexual exploitation of children
• understand how boys, LGBTQ youth, and children with learning disabilities are impacted by commercial sexual exploitation of children

The objectives of the four training modules are to prepare to provide mentoring support and aid to the children and youth in the Resource Family's care.
