Course Description
Business today is global – your continued success requires a new set of skills! In our current, competitive economy, numerous managers already are, or will become, global managers. Although managers may work in their home countries, they are significantly influenced by global events and frequently have to manage multicultural workforces. In this course, we will focus on exploring the challenges and opportunities facing global managers, and how to lead and succeed in a multicultural business world. We will examine cultural, organizational, and managerial environments and strategies to develop a variety of necessary skills in areas of:
- communication
- leadership
- negotiation
- global team management
We will investigate the evolving role of cultural diversity in the workplace, and best practices in applying cultural understanding among its leaders and non-leaders. Measurable, data-driven outcomes are key indicators of success in today’s multicultural and globalized workforce. How employees interact with their leaders, colleagues, and customers are significant factors in their pursuit of successful career development. We will discuss the various tools leaders use to establish metrics in intercultural competence.
