Course Description

This course provides a foundation in Career Technical Education (CTE) for Clear Single Subject and Multiple Subject credential holders who qualify for, and seek authorization to teach, CTE courses. Topics include:

Learning concepts and developmental skills, including instructional strategies for working with English-language learners and special needs students in CTE environments.
Classroom management.
Legal and ethical issues related to CTE.
The role of business and industry.
Career guidance strategies are addressed.

This course is designed to show educator competence in the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) Program Standards #8-16 for the Designated Subjects CTE credential.
