Course Description

Designed to teach you how to use Unity’s real-time 3D rendering engine to build virtual reality applications used to design and visualize construction sites, and conduct a site tour of 3D virtual environments. You will learn how to build interactive, stand-alone VR applications with realistic objects, audio, 2D and 3D assets, custom animations, interactive UI, and industry-standard locomotion techniques. You will also learn how to:

  • deploy your projects to an Oculus device
  • implement UX best practices for VR
  • strategize and design creative, immersive projects
  • build custom strategies to integrate VR into external-party workflows

By the end of this course, you will not only know how Unity fits into the VR application development pipeline, but also how to use its native features and tools to maximize your own applications’ quality, performance, and potential.

Learner Outcomes

  • Describe the role of Unity and Unity Developers in VR application development.
  • Construct 3D virtual environments in Unity, with realistic materials, animation, lighting, audio, video, and imported 3D models.
  • Build VR applications that are deployable to the Oculus Go, or the Oculus Quest headsets.
  • Design interactive VR applications for site tours and environment visualization using VR interaction, locomotion, and UI design patterns.
