Course Description

The content of the AP Precalculus syllabus, curriculum framework, AP classroom, mathematical practices and instructional approaches will be analyzed. Strategies for presenting solutions on the Advanced Placement test will also be presented. This professional learning experience equips you with a deeper understanding of the course framework, exam, and instructional supports.

AP Summer Institute spotlights the latest instructional strategies for teaching Precalculus. This course will be taught online July 8-11, 2024 OR July 22-25, 2024. For July 8-11, early bird discount cost is $600 (before June 7) and $650 (after June 7). Registration closes Friday, June 21. For July 22-25, early bird discount cost is $600 (before June 21) and $650 (after June 21). Registration closes Friday, July 5. There are 3 units of credit (optional) for an additional $150. Learner Outcomes

  • Know the topics and level of an AP Precalculus class.
  • Be able to use technology appropriately as an aid in teaching AP Precalculus.
  • Learn techniques for teaching AP Precalculus ideas.
  • Develop an understanding of the Curriculum and Exam Description (CED) and how to integrate Precalculus concepts.
  • Prepare unit plans that incorporate problem solving activities.
  • Develop a syllabus that will align the Precalculus class to the CED and draft a course calendar that will help to implement the syllabus.
