Offers you a general introduction to the aims and methods of archaeology, in both the field and laboratory.  By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • situate basic knowledge of archaeology within an anthropological framework
  • have a good comprehension of the methods that archaeologists use to reconstruct the past

World prehistory as revealed by these methods will be briefly surveyed.

XR courses are equivalent to undergraduate courses offered at UCR. All XR courses are directly transferable for unit and subject credit toward a Bachelor's degree at all campuses of the University of California and the California State University System. Check your receiving institution for transferability.
