Course Description

Create a Social Justice Action Plan around a problem of equity in your organization. You will use an "equity audit" to uncover, understand, and change inequities that are internal to organizations in four areas: age equity, gender equity, racial equity, and accessibility. Identify, interpret, analyze, and synthesize your equity audit, as a consumer of research, for the purpose of creating a solid social justice plan for your organization.

Learner Outcomes

  • Engage in, facilitate, and lead conversations among their peers to identify barriers to equity, effectiveness, and socio-cultural proficiency.
  • Use, apply, design, and implement research to bring about change and make improvements in their own professional environment.
  • Develop a sense of urgency around creating individual and system-wide change that promotes equity, fosters socio-cultural proficiency, addresses institutional racism, reveals barriers to success, and eliminates opportunity gaps.
  • Develop a common language and common frameworks that allow students to engage in and lead more effective conversations about actions to promote socio-cultural proficiency, equity, and social justice to improve their work environment.
