EDUC 800.9 - Academic and Administrative Models in Higher Education

Course Description

This course provides students with an overview of academic and administrative models in higher education in the United States, including faculty administration, academic programming, the student application process as well as student career planning. Through lectures from guest speakers currently working in the field as well as visits to various departments at the University of California, Riverside campus, students gain exposure to a broad overview of the US education system and how that may apply to their own work. This course provides participants with valuable insights to more effectively work within the higher education system, and best practices to apply to their own professional and educational contexts.
