Course Description

Instruction on the planning, execution, and interpretation of educational assessments. You will demonstrate assessment literacy and design and develop formative and summative competency-based assessments. You will learn to link assessments directly to clearly-defined learning. You will also examine theoretical and practical approaches to evaluating:

• student performance
• teacher performance
• educational programs

You will explore a variety of assessment tools and methods, and will apply competency-based assessments used in didactic, simulated, and clinical learning environments. Preventing bias in evaluation and assessment will also be discussed.
