Emotional intelligence is the capacity of being aware of and controlling one’s emotions to handle interpersonal relationships in an empathetic manner. Once we become aware of ourselves, we become more conscientious of our emotions and how they impact our relationships with others. Understanding your emotional intelligence will allow you to enhance your:

  • social awareness
  • self-management
  • self-awareness
  • relationship management styles

By understanding the four domains of emotional intelligence, we can practice and improve our relationships.
