Course Description

The purpose of this course is to train new and beginning urban farmers. The Farmers’ Training Course is a hands-on, real-life course for those interested in developing techniques and skills in farming. You will receive practical experience in developing skills in small-scale farming, agricultural business, and marketing. Learned skills include:

• techniques in organic farming
• safe use of pesticides and herbicides
• soil tillage and improvements
• food safety and handling
• the proper diagnostics and application of fertilizers
• irrigation management
• farm business management
• marketing and distribution to local markets

Upon completion of this course, you will receive an industry-recognized certificate of completion.
