Course Description

An introduction to the core principles of positive psychology which focuses on helping people develop strategies for optimal happiness, find meaning and purpose in life, and develop resiliency over adversity. Is happiness a myth and if not, how can our attitudes impact how happy we can be? The tools and strategies to increase happiness and joy in your life will be evidence-based practices including an introduction to the theory of happiness, a review of Maslow’s self-actualization principles, along with experiential exercises and the Eight Pillars of Joy. Perspectives on facing suffering, overcoming adversity, and creating meaning and purpose in life will also be discussed.
