Course Description

"Everything you always wanted to know about death and dying and grief but did not know who or how to ask.” Spend a day exploring how to have the hard conversations that surround end of life, how to support family and friends who are losing a loved one, and the normal stuff that occurs in grief that nobody ever told you. A sensitive and thoughtful mix of lectures and discussions will address what causes us to remain in grief, or to have unfinished losses. Included are discussions about out-of-order losses, pet loss (they matter as much as people losses), loss of friends and family, and the other losses that can have the same impact. Learn what grief does to us physically, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually, and the necessity of self-care during a terminal illness for caregivers, and after a loss for grievers.
