Course Description

Social-emotional learning is appealing to teachers of young children. They understand that children model what they see. Adopting and implementing strategies can present a challenge. This workshop is designed to inform and then allow teachers to develop their own social-emotional learning strategies through peer led support.

Learner Outcomes

  • Become familiar with different types of social-emotional learning strategies.
  • Discuss why it is important to be intentional about teaching social emotional skills.
  • Identify strategies for supporting the development of friendship skills.
  • Participants will understand the importance of providing opportunities for children to begin to understand their own, as well as others’ emotions.
