Course Description

Social-emotional learning is appealing to teachers of young children. They understand that children model what they see. Adopting and implementing strategies can present a challenge. This workshop is designed to inform and then allow teachers to develop their own social-emotional learning strategies through peer led support.

Learner Outcomes

Become familiar with different types of social-emotional learning strategies.
Discuss why it is important to be intentional about teaching social emotional skills.
Identify strategies for supporting the development of friendship skills.
Participants will understand the importance of providing opportunities for children to begin to understand their own, as well as others’ emotions.
