Course Description

Methods of teaching AP Literature and Composition classes. You will examine:

You will also assess the AP Examination in order to explore how you may devise successful programs and coursework. The use of poetic devices, character analysis and other aspects of analyzing literary texts will be presented, in combination with teaching strategies that promote critical and creative thinking. This course is specifically designed for instructors who have taught AP classes for one year or less.

AP Summer Institute spotlights the latest instructional strategies for teaching English Literature for beginning teachers. This course will be taught online July 22-25, 2024.
